If we haven't yet met - hello, and welcome to Best for Women! We have witnessed too many women who have lost their confidence and are determined to help them regain their sense of self.

We believe confidence comes from three distinct aspects: 

  1. Self confidence (emotional). That belief in ourselves that we are taking the next right step on our path, that we feel capable and prepared within our selves, and we are comfortable in how we present ourselves to the world. 
  2. Confidence in our self (physical). There is a sense of strength and capability when we translate doing hard things physically to psychologically coping with difficult situations. Having faith in our body and bones to carry us is a confidence that not everyone has an opportunity to experience - and it is transformational. 
  3. Confidence in Community (psychological). Sometimes we can draw on the belief of others in our potential to bridge our own self confidence. We believe it comes from the comfort and security of belonging to a community and knowing you are supported by someone else who cares. This external source of confidence is especially strong when that belief in you comes from a coach, mentor, or a group of women and allies who know you and want what's best for you. 

In this post we're excited to introduce you to the team at Best for Women and share the many ways that we can support you on your journey to regain your confidence, for whatever your budget.

Allow me to introduce us

My name is Brooke Gordon and I'm an advocate for entrepreneurs and an Executive Coach for women in leadership and business development who are tired of having their ambition limited in the workplace (aka the glass ceiling). I help clients get clear on expectations for success so they can achieve their goals while sustaining a healthy balance.

I partnered with my good friend Christine Aarlaht, a fitness trainer and kickboxing instructor who specializes in working with women working who are ready to regain their health. Christine has plenty of experience working in male dominated fields under incredible pressure. She knows that sometimes gentle movement and stretching can help to ease a lot of tension. But she also understands that there are times to go hard and release some pent up aggression.

If you have been feeling like something needs to change, we are two coaches who want to work with you - separately or integrated.

Brooke is there to help you (re)build self confidence; Christine to help you build confidence in yourself. 

Together, we are working to build a community with a vibe that is easy going, practical and pragmatic. As you get to know us, you will know that our intentions come from a strong place of care and a desire to be supportive.

So many studies state that women need access to networks as a key factor for success. What does that actual mean though?

In my previous role as National Lead for the Women Entrepreneur Strategy at BDC, I saw two things:

  1. A lot of the free and low cost resources that were available by the government (at all levels) used business jargon that you have to be familiar with to find. It meant that you weren't likely to know about the programs or meet the right people unless you knew someone who already knew about it... you know what I mean?
  2. I met many women were looking to build meaningful connections, explore personal and professional ambitions, and hold themselves accountable to making sustainable changes in a community that would offer tailored support.

BEST FOR WOMEN LIVE PODCAST

What started as a weekly IG LIVE  to showcase and share the stories of women and allies in our network became a podcast! We talk about lessons in leadership, ideas for business development, and managing stress.

Our guests share very practical advise, experiences and are gracious to open up about what causes them stress and how they have coped with it.

We post a snippet of all the stories as an archive of the Best for Women LIVE podcast and I encourage you to subscribe on YouTube to get notified of the latest episodes.
